I am the Professor and Chair of the Dermatology Section (Department of Internal Medicine) at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), but also hold Clinical Faculty appointments at Case Western Medical and The Ohio State Medical Dermatology Programs. I have a longstanding interest in wound care and was a founding member of the Wound Healing Clinic at Akron General Medical Center (now Cleveland Clinic Akron General) where a true multidisciplinary team (dermatology, orthopedic surgery, plastic surgery) operated an exceptional independent clinic for many years. Though still interested in wound care, I now spend most of my clinical time as the past-President of Akron Dermatology (www.akronderm.com), with a focus on improving patient care with exceptional team-based service. Akron Dermatology is now in the able hands of former mentees Dr. Jacqueline Graham and Dr. Raj Patel which continues to serve the regional community since being founded in July 1993. NEOMED and other faculty appointments give me the opportunity to mentor and teach many students, assist in the growth of NEOMED as an exceptional medical school and nurture my passion for the power of motivating, teaching, and nurturing others toward lifelong learning.
