Led a team of five responsible for business development, grant management, donor compliance and local partnership for a $30 Million humanitarian aid portfolio in Turkey and Northern Syria (primary donors include DFID, SIDA, ECHO, USAID, UNHCR, UNOCHA, EU).

Supported international offices and technical teams to develop proposals for the U.S. Department of State, USAID, UN, World Bank, and ECHO. From NYC and from the field, served as proposal lead and/or writer for competitive bids. Coordinated with Finance/Grants to develop compliant budgets; facilitated discussions around restricted goods, small business partnerships, cost share, etc. Facilitated best and final offer negotiations. Worked with field teams to undertake donor and partner mapping and representation activities. Developed capability statements for proposals, partnering discussions, and to improve brand visibility.

Senior Consultant in EY’s Program Management division, supporting clients to implement major business transformations. Areas of focus include program management; change management; stakeholder engagement; organization design; and communications and new media.

Technical Program Manager in the Governance and Civil Society practice area. Designed civil society programs in MENA, Central Asia and Africa, monitored/evaluated program progress, reported status, and supported project execution. Provided oversight from the Washington office, traveling to the field for up to five months of the year to provide short-term technical assistance in grant and operational management. From 2011-2012, served as Program Manager on a $4 million, State Department-funded, civil society strengthening program in Libya. The initiative enhanced core organizational competencies of non-governmental organizations through training, mentoring and small grants. From 2010-2012, served as Program Manager on a $39 million USAID-funded program to build the capacity and visibility of Afghan, women-owned businesses and civil society organizations. Contributed to divisional business development as a lead or contributing proposal writer on over $100 million worth of new business, and served as lead writer on winning bids in Libya and the West Bank.

Program Associate for electoral assistance projects in Somaliland, Algeria, Honduras, and Turkey. Edited project deliverables, and monitored and reported on program indicators and milestones. From 2009-2010, managed an Electoral Security Assessment program funded by USAID’s Democracy and Governance Office. Served as the primary point of contact with the donor, drafting and submitting all Quarterly and Project Activity Reports, tracking program finances, and speaking on behalf of the project at formal engagements (e.g., panelist at USIP’s annual “Preventing Electoral Violence in Africa” conference). Participated in division-wide business development initiatives through research, budgeting, and as a contributing writer.

World History and Government teacher for 6th, 10th and 12th grade students at the international school in Casablanca, Morocco. Taught the International Baccalaureate curriculum in grade 12, and designed independent curricula for 6th and 10th grade students. Coached middle and high school Varsity soccer.
