In this program, I am attending lectures and discussions on core population topics, learning hands on applications with population data in R, examining case studies on inequality and health, participating in mentored research development, participating in professional development, and attending career talks given by distinguished demography professors at Duke and John Hopkins University.

I am using arcGIS and arcGIS Field maps to digitize work order forms that maintenance workers fill out as they go in the field and check on/repair piping infrastructure. I am creating databases to contain and run analysis on the data being reported, for example, estimated water loss for the year. I also make maps for the District as needed, for example, emergency water resource zoning for the fire department.

I managed funds and created events informing on and advocating for sexual reproductive rights, policies, and current news during the 2023-2024 academic year. I will fill the same role for the reproductive justice board during the 2024-2025 academic year.

I teach kids between the ages of 9-15 how to surf, kayak, and paddle board. When I'm not in the water, I am either lifeguarding on the beach or interacting with the campers playing on the beach.

I work as a lifeguard at the UC Santa Barbara recreation center, where I monitor patrons and am responsible for public safety.

I managed funds for the Undergraduate Association for Women in Mathematics and created events that support women in the department.

I assisted with data processing for a research study on HIV location points in LA county. I mainly worked with Python, and found/ read research papers that had similar statistical analysis and data processing methods.

I worked as a Research Assistant part of a WayFinding study, in a Cognitive Geography Lab at UCSB. I was responsible for measuring human participants and creating an avatar from their data. I would then walk with the Participant while they followed the trial map and mark points of interest on the route. Each participant wore pupil tracking software, and their routes were recorded. I was tasked with annotating the videos from the eye tracking software and marking what each participant looked at during the WayFinding study.
