I work in Dr. Gregory Downey's lab investigating mechanisms of human pulmonary fibrosis. I am particularly interested in 4-hydroxy-2-nonenal (4-HNE) and ALDH2's roles in the onset and resolution of the fibroproliferative phase of FP-ARDS.I previously worked in the lab of Dr. Neelanjan Mukherjee studying how the RNA binding proteins MSI2, TRUB1, and the ZFP36 protein family regulate post-transcriptional gene expression in human steroidogenic tissue. My undergraduate work under the guidance of Dr. Greg Odorizzi concerned the roles of and interactions between proteins in the stabilization and disassembly of the ESCRT-III polymer in S. cerevisiae.Previously, I characterized the novel mycobacteriophage Friedrich and contributed to the genomic annotation of actinobacteriophage Sprinklers. My capstone course was in developmental biology and embryology. I also hold a bachelor's degree in classical music performance.
