As an Assistant Principal at LEARN Excel I hired, trained, supervised and evaluated 40 staff/faculty members, promoted positive school culture based on Respect, High Expectations, Parental Engagement, Whole Child, Safe and Nurturing Environment, and Continual Improvement for all faculty, students, parents, and community members. I regularly analyzed school data and researched best practices in order to prioritize school needs and form action plans around them. I observed and provided weekly feedback to staff using Teachscape observation tool aligned to Danielson Framework for Teaching to improve instructional practice and implementation of curricular materials. I created the master schedule for all teachers to align the instructional day with academic goals. I led school Data-Driven Instruction teams in bi-weekly DDI meetings using a DDI protocol to assess and set goals for students based on current assessment data and the CCSS. I often planned and implemented whole staff professional development and worked in conjunction with the Chief Academic Officer and other network leaders to deliver professional development at a network-wide scale. I created data folders for all 2nd and 3rd grade students based on NWEA MAP and held 1:1 data conversations with all scholars in 2nd and 3rd grade.

As a Lead Instructor at LEARN Excel I was responsible for instructing fourth grade curriculum based on CCSS and adapting instruction to meet social, emotional and academic needs using data-driven small group instruction and daily 1:1 conferring based on NWEA MAP, BAS, and classroom formative assessments. My scholars grew at the 95th and 99th percentile on NWEA MAP in Reading and Math, respectively. I planned and implemented whole staff professional development. I was a member of Response to Intervention Committee in which I designed and piloted a successful Tier 2 Intervention program. Over the course of my three years as Lead Instructor, I collaborated with and mentored Instructional Assistants and Resident Teachers. I was a member of School Leadership Team and a recipient of Boundless Readers Grant.

As a Fourth Grade Teacher at WPS I conceptualized and developed activities to engage and motivate students through multiple learning modalities, collaborated with team members to develop action plans to ensure student success, and participated in curriculum mapping using the CCSS. I actively engaged students in the learning process using diverse manipulatives, fine arts, songs, and multiple student groupings based on data. I was a member of PBIS Universal Committee, chair of Fundraising Committee in which I raised over $8000 for the school, and I began first school club – Recycling Club.
