This job was a maternity cover position, which meant that there were very well established routines, ministries and volunteers already in place. However, starting the job as the pandemic hit meant that much of the job description had to be re-moulded as I sought new ways to do the following:• Lead, plan and develop spiritual discipleship and evangelistic programmes for the children’s ministry of New Life Church.• Create and maintain a strategy for visiting Children and Families within New Life Church.• Work alongside the Youth & Community Worker to deliver community events and family services that broaden New Life Church's outreach.• Oversee New Life Kids (the umbrella term for three children's groups that range from 0-11 year-olds).• Establish, equip and co-ordinate a team of volunteer children’s workers.• Work with the safeguarding co-ordinators to ensure legal compliance in safeguarding.

Volunteering at Boscombe Baptist Church alongside my degree gave me the opportunity to pioneer a weekly 18-30's group, leading Bible studies regularly and building up other young adults to also lead. This was a response to an age gap in the church community and was part of a three-year Church Family Strategy that I contributed to writing.In particular I was responsible for developing and implementing a three-year strategy for the young adults group and welcome team, focusing on establishing a culture of fellowship, discipleship and pastoral care in the church community and among volunteers.
