I wrote, illustrated and designed a book to teach all kids about cancer. It's called "The Puddle Jumper's Guide to Kicking Cancer." You can find it on amazon.com, and it's a true story about my daughter's battle with Leukemia. In this story, Gracie shares the ins and outs of fighting cancer in a way that is informative, hopeful and encouraging. Believe it or not, it's even funny at times! Knowledge is power. Following are some of my achievements while at National Instruments (NI) - an international producer of automated test equipment and virtual instrumentation: • Wrote and edited strategic copy for communications and marketing tools, such as websites, press releases, videos and presentations, executive bios, emails, advertisements, brochures, newsletters, direct mail, contributed articles, case studies, white papers, product catalogs, and sales materials. • Managed trade media relations team activities for NI; launched products to the media; pitched and placed contributed articles by NI subject matter experts; secured and attended media interviews at trade shows and media tours. • Planned and supervised media relations events and interviews at NI's annual user conference, NI Week, for more than 90 journalists from media outlets worldwide.• Strengthened executives’ interviewing and presentation skills by conducting frequent media training sessions. • Managed worldwide marketing communications campaign for the launch of NI’s TestStand 3.0 software product, doubling the product’s yearly revenue and earning “Best in Test” award by Test & Measurement World.• Streamlined production of NI’s 900-page product catalog, cutting production time in half and reducing errors in catalog. • Managed design production for NI’s Corporate Design Group, which consisted of 15 designers.
