• Manage the daily details of a $3.2 million National Institute of Health (NIH) Research Project Grant (R01) for a 3-year community-based clinical research study with the goal of identifying a policy recommendation for a safe supplemental amount of vitamin D for the pediatric population.• Oversaw outreach to a diverse population of more than 1400 public school students and parents in an effort to recruit participants in this randomized, double-blind, longitudinal study.• Provide oversight of the school-based clinical intervention with 13 elementary schools and a total of 691 participants in grades 4 through 8.• Engage and collaborate with community stakeholders on project support and implementation, including city leaders, school districts, school staff, and parents.• Recruit, train and manage study staff of up to 22 individuals working in the roles of research assistant, phlebotomist, and other technical consultants. • Responsible for field data collection over a period of up to 12-weeks during the fall, winter, and spring annually.• Develop, implement and train staff on research protocols and policies.• Prepared study modification documents for Institutional Research Board (IRB) review and approval, and presented study objectives and progress to other internal and external constituents.
