 Placing orders with existing suppliers, contact departments or branches with questions about supply request and check on the whereabouts of supplies if there is a delay in shipping. Expediting materials from suppliers and ensure on-time delivery. Receives purchases and check requests from throughout the facility, checks for accuracy, and forwards to procurement office. Maintaining regular contact with Purchasing Manager, Marketing Staff, Field Office Staff, Superintendents, and other Purchasing Staff. Identifies minority firms as possible suppliers. Evaluates the quality and appropriateness of supplies and equipment; conducts cost/quality comparisons prior to submitting requests to procurement office. Negotiate for best purchasing package (in terms of quality, price, term, delivery and service) with suppliers assigned. Providing samples and information to sales staff. Support relevant departments with quotations for the purpose of tenders. Liaise with Account Department on payment matters. Data entry, maintaining and entering purchase orders, maintaining and compiling purchasing delivery notes Assist also perform clerical tasks like answering the phones, making photocopies, and sending faxes for the purchasing director.
