Primary focus was with the Southern Resident killer whale. Field supervisor of study for Center for Conservation Biology that focuses on determining the physiological impacts of prey depletion, stress and reproduction hormones and toxins in the water on the southern resident killer whales located in the Salish Sea in a long term study. Responsible for locating scat samples using a scat detection dog, improving training techniques of a scat detection dog, training scat detection dogs to detect whale feces, observing and recording whale behaviour, observe and record vessels on the water for boat data, team management including schedules and data/budget management, NOAA and SARA permit management and reports.Completed over 2000 total hours on the water in the Salish Sea over 250 days of sampling. **Co-Principal Investigator and primary contact on NOAA permit 10045 and 17344 and Canadian SARA permit MML-31.

Main responsibilities were program operation, team management and training (driver, intern and volunteers), grant/sponsorship writing, vessel maintenance, data collection and analysis, writing journal articles, budget management, boat handling, knowledge of inland waters surrounding the San Juan islands of Washington state and the Gulf Islands of British Columbia Canada. Data collection includes observing and recording all vessels on the water for vessel data, contacting private vessels for boater education regarding the federal/state regulations, observing and recording whale behaviour and crew safety. Over 500 hours of survey time, 150+ days on the water around SRKWs and marine mammals. **Principal Investigator and primary contact on NOAA permit 16160 since 2015.
