I am currently the Data Management Coordinator in the College of Education at Eastern Michigan University. This role involves handling both data engineering and data analysis tasks. I identify, collect, and clean large, disparate sets of data in order to support accreditation and internal continuous improvement activities. In order to support these data analysis needs, I also manage data collection and storage for the college. I identify and collect meaningful data, design and implement efficient (and as user-friendly as possible) storage solutions, and collaborate with University IT when necessary. I also maintain a FileMaker database, ensuring that its design continues to meet user needs. I am currently in the process of working with IT to migrate some of our data from this database to the University's Oracle database, and I am working to add several new features to the FileMaker database in order to better support our users.Overall, I am passionate about designing technical architecture to support user needs, and about improving data management systems.
