My work focuses on identifying, recruiting and engaging partnerships with key stakeholders working in food security and climate to design, develop and market digitally secure supply chains within these networks. • Facilitate the convergence of LABS’ technology community with small to mid-size, place-based food producers, primarily involving agriculture, aquaculture and commercial fisheries.  • Identify host sites and conduct site surveys to identify potential field IoT applications in agriculture, aquaculture and commercial fisheries.• Oversee the program management of all food security pilots conducted in the region.• Promote partnerships with regional and state third parties to address food security issues regionally and nationally. Coordinate IoT meetups and network events with agriculture /aquaculture/fisheries.

- Worked to create and advance RTB as an independent non-profit organization when it fledged from its parent organization, the Marion Institute in 2015. - Responsible for the overall coordination, administration, implementation, and management of education and events on or regarding RTB.

Created, composed and secured three major clean energy grants totaling $600,000, to support workforce capacity for the SouthCoast region. Developed and implemented a Master Gardener program.

• Provided design, grant funding and implementation of Brownfield, Polaroid, and LifeWorks programs. Worked cooperatively with the Dean, community partners, BCC credit and non-credit staff, and students to successfully execute programs. Researched and collaborated on the Green Jobs academic track for the Brownfield program.• Assisted the Dean to implement eHealth Careers program. Specific tasks included collaborating with multiple BCC departments to build curriculum, recruiting students, and designing and implementing student growth and retention programs.• Designed and implemented the WISE (Women in Successful Environments) Women program - A grant-funded welfare-to-work program that recruited women receiving assistance from the Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) and created a cohort structured career pathway to college and employment. • Coordinated the ESOL Pathways to College program (funding from the Polaroid Foundation of Greater New Bedford). Responsibilities included grant writing, student recruitment, creation of academic course sequence and supervision of students and faculty.• Advised students relative to short and long-term academic goals. Organized and prepared individual program checklists as a systematic tool to aid advisors.

Created and taught a two credit service learning course for the Boston University Marine Program (BUMP). The course focused on the Stellwagen sanctuary and its resources while providing students with public speaking expertise, leadership skills, and program evaluation techniques. Coordinated with schools, libraries and public organizations to provide speaking opportunities for BUMP students.

Managed and facilitated all day-to-day activities associated with running a business: product ordering, accounting, staff supervision, floral design, and greenhouse maintenance.

Conducted aerial and shipboard surveys to assess the population status and distribution of endangered and protected marine life. Organized the right whale photo identification database. Assisted in the preparation of the annual large whale Stock Assessment Reports.

• Coordinated marine mammal stranding response on Cape Cod and the Elizabeth Islands. Responsible for triage, rescue, and release of live stranded animals. Drew blood for clinical analysis and euthanized animals incapable of survival. Conducted post-mortem examinations, including full necropsies to determine causes of mortality.• Maintained stranding and tissue sample databases. Disseminated samples to appropriate researchers. Managed equipment and resources. Maintained records and reporting commitments to federal agencies.• Established and performed training seminars for stranding network volunteers. Initiated a marine mammal club at Barnstable High School to assist in the necropsy and skeletal recovery of large whales beached on Cape Cod.• Initiated a collaborative, multi-disciplinary program to monitor the harassment of gray seals at a critical haul-out site. Conceived, designed, and wrote guidelines endorsed by the federal government to promote responsible seal watching. Organized and conducted a working group to pro-actively address local seal conservation issues.

• Involved in all aspects of stranding response. Experience in the direct triage, rescue and release of stranded animals in southeast Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Assisted in coordinating and performing volunteer training seminars for the Cape Cod Stranding Network (CCSN). Organized and maintained the stranding volunteer database. Inventoried and maintained stranding equipment. Participated in organizational meetings held among the CCSN, and helped organize the IWC’s international stranding review symposium.• Field identification of marine mammals, behavioral sequencing of cetacean behavior, and public education aboard a 53-foot research vessel.• Collection and analysis of data pertaining to habitat use patterns in marine environment, focusing on human, avian and marine mammal activity.• Participated in a National Science Foundation program to instruct middle school science teachers in methods of scientific investigation, focusing on cetacean behavior and anthropogenic impacts.

Conducted aerial surveys along the eastern seaboard of the United State to investigate distribution of right whales and other endangered or protected marine life. Gather information by placing computerized tags on whales to investigate subsurface behavior. Information was used to reduce interactions between protected species and commercial shipping and fishing. Projects required data entry into Microsoft Access program, photography, photo analysis, mapping skills and small boat operations.

Conducted aerial surveys along the coast of Georgia and Florida to investigate distribution of right whales and other endangered or protected marine life. Gather information by placing computerized tags on whales to investigate subsurface behavior. Information was used to reduce interactions between protected species and commercial shipping and fishing. Projects required data entry into Microsoft Access program, photography, photo analysis, mapping skills and small boat operations.

One of two biologists contracted to investigate the subsurface behavior of endangered humpback whales, including their response to noise. Investigation utilized multi-sensor VHF radio tags held in place by suction cup attachment. Data collected included depth of dive, velocity, and body orientation. Additional responsibilities included: testing and “trouble shooting” of hardware and software, data manipulation, and operation of tagging vessel (13-foot inflatable boat).

Endangered species observation aboard dredge ships. Monitoring and documenting the take of protected species (e.g., right whales, sea turtles, and manatees).

Monitored marine mammal activity in the San Juan Archipelago, Washington State for possible effects of habitat impact during the Haro Strait Tomography Experiment; a physical oceanography experiment on front formation using various sound sources. Additional responsibilities included: operation of 13-foot zodiac, acoustic recordings using DAT hydrophone, and instruction of volunteers in field identification and point censusing for killer whales, Dall’s porpoise, harbor porpoise, and harbor seals at various locations within the study area.
