I worked with a team of attorneys in the Legal and Regulatory department and assisted on special projects as needed. My work was focused primarily on administrative law pertaining to electric Reliability Standards and Cybersecurity, and I supported the general business needs of the company as well. I researched federal legislative proceedings related to energy policy and electric utilities, and acted as liasion to the NERC Reliability Standards department. I drafted, proofed, and filed Reliability Standard and Regulatory Compliance administrative law filings with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and drafted/proofed a number of company communications such as NERC Compliance Registry appeals, NERC Board of Trustees memorandums, and Reliability Standard Audit Worksheets. I managed the company-wide auditing process for employee lobbying time and filed quarterly and twice annual Lobbying Disclosure Reports with Congress. I also maintained the integrity of data on various NERC web pages using Website Management programs including Sharepoint, and was involved in efforts to improve the public-facing website. Additionally, I analyzed and tracked regulatory directives for the Legal and Regulatory and Standards departments.

I wrote specialized visa petitions for a large international corporate client with information technology expertise and crafted visa packages for qualified individuals. I also helped create and organize an information database that increased daily output of corporate visa applications. To improve my understanding of immigration law, I attended a series of training sessions on the immigration law field best practices.

During a semester long student internship, I conducted in-person interviews and authored byline articles on Baltimore lifestyle and local personalities. I also wrote informational profiles on upcoming cultural and artistic events in the city. As part of the editorial team I researched, proofread, and fact-checked articles submitted by freelance writers, staff writers, and other editorial interns.

I managed office and client correspondence and compiled lists of target constituents using firm database and additional research. I also researched lobby issues for our clients such as education and energy policy, and I observed strategic business meetings with state and local representatives. This was a semester long student internship.
