In my role as book editor, I assist writers who wish to develop and enhance their manuscript before submitting it to a publisher. Firstly, I evaluate the manuscript and give clients objective feedback. Then, I recommend the services that they require to develop their writing, be it developmental editing, structural editing, line editing, copy editing or proofreading. I also advise clients about the difference between traditional publishing and self-publishing. If the client wishes to secure a publishing deal, I help them to be in a prepared position to approach a publisher. As for those writers who take the self-publishing route, I guide them through all the steps required to transform their draft into a book that sells. I have edited books of varying genres, namely children’s literature, non-fiction (philosophy, business, self-help) and fiction.

As an editorial project manager, I coordinate and facilitate all the stages of the publishing process, from manuscript editing to printing and beyond. In my role as script editor, I liaise closely with the director, producer and clients in order to adapt, develop and edit scripts, work on character and story development and prepare on-screen texts and subtitles. I bring to the table my skills as a writer of fiction, my knowledge as a book editor, over fifteen years’ experience in the fields of proofreading and editing, my formation as an educator and ten years’ experience as a teacher, as well as my academic background as a History and English language graduate.

As an educator, I was 'in loco parentis', so my priorities were my students' academic and emotional needs. I sought to create a caring and motivating environment where individuals developed their self-confidence and self-esteem. I was committed to helping my students achieve their full potential, so I did my utmost to deliver varied lessons which matched the different styles of learning. By transmitting my love for the English language, I hoped that the students would become confident, self-directed, lifelong learners. I worked closely with my students' parents, and this enabled the parents to feel empowered in the teaching and learning process. Over the years, I developed a strong, positive working relationship with the senior management team and teaching staff and was considered a valuable asset to the school.

For six consecutive summers, I taught English to students of other languages. I had the opportunity to teach different age groups, ranging from young learners to adults. As a teacher at a language school, I was required to deliver fun and engaging lessons and to collaborate with the teaching staff and administration. Thanks to my years of experience I became well acquainted with the school procedures and, for this reason, I was often asked to work in the office, where I assisted the director of studies in the daily running of the school.
