The mission of the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women is to advance women toward full equity in all areas of life and to promote rights and opportunities for al women. The Commission exists to provide a permanent, effective voice for women across Massachusetts. As Commissioner, my role is to: use my expertise to provide guidance to the Commission on issues affecting women and girls, represent the Commission at public events, hear testimony presented at public hearings and bring issues of concern to the Massachusetts legislature, organize the Commission's Advocacy Day event and participate in the Commission's signature event "Unsung Heroines" where we honor women from around the Commonwealth.2015-2016 - Serving as Vice Chair of the Commission

The position of District 1 Governor of Zonta International, which encompasses New England and Nova Scotia Canada, allowed me to fulfill my passion for empowering women and girls locally and internationally. As CEO of the District, I was responsible for 13 clubs (approximately 237 members) and served as District representative to Zonta International at the Zonta International Convention in Yokohama, Japan in 2018. As Governor, I also served on the Zonta U.S. Caucus and traveled to the United Nations to attend the 62 and 63 sessions of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW#62/CSW#63).

As Lt. Governor, I am responsible for performing such duties as assigned to me by the governor. In the absence or inability of the governor to perform her official duties within the district, as Lt. Governor I would be responsible for those duties. As Lt. Governor, I am also the chairman of the District Membership Committee.

As Chair of the Advisory Board at Mystic Valley Elder Services, I serve as spokesperson for the Advisory Council, am responsible for presiding at all meetings and conveying any recommendations on issues concerning the senior population we represent to the Board of Directors. Additionally, I am responsible for the review of proposals for Title III sub-grant allocations.
