My career and interests have brought me many unique opportunities and experiences throughout my life. After earning a degree in Biology I worked on a research vessel off the coast of New England collecting data on a variety of marine species. The research I assisted in gave me the opportunity to learn about collecting data in the field and enhanced my desire to learn more about living with nature. During this time I also volunteered to help unearth Mayan ruins in Central America. It was here that my interest in photographing nature grew. I wanted to share the things I saw and educate people about the natural world.I went on to attend college in California where I learned how to professionally photograph nature. Living on the west coast gave me the opportunity to photograph the southwest and dive in the kelp forests off the Channel Islands. Shortly after graduating with a degree in photography the National Geographic Channel contacted me to participate in a documentary about Canyonlands National Park. A group of us traveled down the Colorado River for a few days while I was filmed photographing the things we discovered. Seeing, first hand, how a National Geographic documentary is filmed was a great experience!Of all the many things I have done, my commitment and passion for the environment and the natural world has always stayed strong! With my combined interests and GIS skills, my long term goal is to work for an environmental/engineering consulting group or the public sector.Specialties: ESRI ArcGIS, GIS Project Management, Map Design, ArcGIS Online, Data Management, FERC Mapping and Resource Report Analysis, Quality Control, Workflow Automation, Model Builder, Remote Sensing, Georeferencing, Linear Referencing, Topology, Maplogic, ET GeoWizards, SDE, Lizard Tech, Global Mapper, KMZ, FME, Microsoft Office 365, HTML/CSS, Photography, Image Editing
