I am a Neuroscience PhD Candidate with nearly a decade of high-level research experience. My goal is to advance my field in service of improving health outcomes of vulnerable populations. To accomplish this, I use advanced neuroimaging methods to uncover brain structural and functional alterations due to neurological diseases, injury, and women's health factors. I have collaborated with physicians and scientists across the world to map the brain across the menstrual cycle, identify key regions important for motor function post-stroke, uncover how the brain is altered by mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI), and utilize high-field imaging to map motor circuits that can serve as potential therapeutic targets for Parkinson’s Disease.

Graduate Student ResearcherUc Santa Barbara Sep 2019 - PresentSanta Barbara County, California, United StatesAction Lab, Director: Dr. Scott Grafton, Distinguished Professor and Director of Brain Imaging Center• Applies advanced neuroimaging methods such as diffusion spectrum and diffusion tensor distribution imaging, task-based fMRI, and multi-echo resting state MRI at 7T in order to map alterations in brain structure/function due to conditions such as mTBI, stroke, and Parkinson's Disease. • Aims to uncover the neural mechanisms behind motor planning, skill learning, and decision making and how these mechanisms vary across individuals • Gaining proficiency in data modeling techniques such as connectome-based lesion symptom mapping (CLSM), hierarchical bayesian modeling, and multivariate neuroimaging methods such as variational representational similarity analysis • Dedicates herself to scientific communication and outreach through poster presentations (4 total posters at 3 conferences since Sep 2019), involvement in mentorship programs that aim to increase access to underrepresented students (4 different mentees since Sep 2020), and commitment to undergraduate student RAs (started student-led lab journal club to facilitate learning) Featured Presentations:Rizor, E., Dundon, N.M., Colas, J., Yang, D., Babenko, V., Stump, A., Razavi, C., Grafton, S.T.
