I am a creative, dedicated nonprofit leader whose focus is on education, especially environmental education. I have been involved in the nonprofit sector for over a decade serving on nonprofit boards and assisting with grant applications, among other things.As the executive director of Friends of the Chemung River Watershed, I lead an extensive network of volunteers and staff dedicated to making the watershed a place where people enjoy responsible, safe recreation. We accomplish this mission by providing education, community outreach, environmental clean ups, and recreational opportunities that highlight just how wonderful it is to be able to live near, work near, and visit the Chemung River.I am also an active community volunteer. I have served as a community clean up volunteer, a spay and neuter clinic assistant, a website developer, a pet foster parent, an editor, and a content manager. I'm currently serving our community as a Girl Scout Troop Co-Leader for a Brownie/Junior multi-level troop. In 2023, I won the GSNYPENN Girl Scout Spirit Award, which "recognizes a volunteer...known to work diligently behind the scenes, is first to provide extra assistance, and supports fellow Girl Scout volunteers and the troop."When I'm not busy trying to save the world, I love to spend time with my family (two children, husband, two dogs, four cats, and a gazillion fish), play piano, write silly stories, crochet amigurumi, watercolor, read but never finish at least three books at a time, and try not to kill all my houseplants. Someday my daughters will inherit this earth, and I hope that I will have made it better for them.
