During my internship I used Revit to add fire strategies onto building plans, assisted in writing fire strategy reports, created PowerPoints for pitching and took minutes in client meetings. I also undertook a research project answering the question - does fire discriminate?

I undertook an industrial placement at Coalesce, designing and developing medical devices. Initially I was working on a client based project, conducting design proving tests and analysis. I used SolidWorks to design test rigs and prototypes which I 3Dprinted, fettled and built. I had the opportunity to present my work to colleagues, clients and I also ran a demonstration for future investors.

I worked within the company to aid the creation of Kite Park. I carried out calculations and technical drawings of play structures. I also delivered a section of the park project, the stepping stones. I managed a small group of people, developing managing and coordination skills.

Bartending has allowed me to adapt quickly to a new style of work, build on prior knowledge and become more efficient in a fast paced environment. Being part of a small team meant that I worked closely with my managers to make improvements behind the bar. Interacting and socialising with customers is a big aspect of the role which enabled me to grow more confident talking to and connecting with a diverse mix of new people.

Coaching novice rowers at my local rowing club allowed me to pass on my skills and passion for the sport. This helped beginners develop as athletes whilst I myself developed as a leader.

I tutor one on one GCSE maths. I now have the capability to understand why the student is struggling and communicate challenging concepts in a way they can comprehend.

I served customers in the footwear department, however, I pick up new skills easily becoming a versatile worker. Working in a busy branch meant the work was full on and nonstop teaching me to juggle customers effectively and remain calm under pressure.
