I collaborated with hardware and software engineers on projects focused on electrical modules in vehicles. In this role I wired electrical modules and helped develop proof of concepts. I gained hands-on experience with electrical components and wiring harnesses through GM's Automotive Manufacturing Electrical College (AMEC). In AMEC I acquired skills in interpreting connector pinouts, de-pinning connectors, and reading wiring schematics. Additionally, I supported project management by creating Gantt charts and timelines to support upcoming projects.

I worked in the Rechargeable Energy Storage System (RESS) manufacturing area of Factory Zero. I worked on the vision systems in the RESS battery cell production lines. I validated the quality of the cameras in the vision systems for these lines. I worked with execution and vision engineers to validate the programs on the cameras to ensure the cameras could accurately pass or fail parts through the process of image validation. I did image validation for all lines to identify all program issues and report them to vision engineers. I took a Matrox Design Assistant training course to learn about the programs used in vision systems. It was also my responsibility to organize and distribute part measurements to process engineers daily. I also ran multiple tests on proposed barcodes using cameras in Factory Zero to determine readability and read time for the barcodes.

I work with controls engineers on lab networking, configuring new devices, PLC projects, AutoSave MDT and other tasks in the lab. I was responsible for managing the progress of my projects and reporting back to my supervisor. I was given hands on experience with software and hardware used in GM's automation systems, including Rockwell's Studio 5000, Siemens Step 7, self guided vehicle's programming, Matrox vision systems, safety I/O blocks and network switches. Through this internship I have taken training courses in Matrox vision systems, Siemens Step 7 software, and FANUC robot fundamentals.
