I am a student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville majoring in Animal Science with a concentration in Bioscience. I enjoy learning new things about the environment and how organisms contribute to it. I grew up with dogs, horses, pigs, goats, chickens, snakes, and birds, making the choice to study animal science very easy. I want to gain more hands-on experience as well as always continuing to learn, even outside of school. Previous to coming to school, I volunteered at a local horse barn where I mentored younger students, took on day to day care of horses, and helped with safety around the horses. After coming to school, I volunteered with Young Williams Animal Shelter, fostering a senior cat and finding a permanent home for her. I am very dedicated and willing to take on different responsibilities within the workplace. I am extremely passionate about making a difference in animal handling, Temple Grandin being someone I look up to.
