I am lucky enough that I did not have to start as a dishwasher to begin my career in the kitchen. I began baking long before I could see over the counter, and while I was young, pastry arts grasped my heart. My infatuation was deep and unrelenting. When I turned eight I was given a journal that I filled with handwritten recipes. Some of them had been passed down from family, others I was developing on my own. My curiosity was and is endless. So many of us in this industry have motivation deeply rooted in the display of love that cooking conveys. Every crackling baguette and meticulously laid garnish is an act of service in which we give guests a piece of ourselves in the strive for validation and perfection.Although I am on track to graduate in May of 2025, I believe that education should continue long after school.
