About Ella Whitaker

Hello! My name is Ella and I'm a fourth-year student at American University. I'm majoring in Comparative Studies of Colonialism, Race, Gender, and Sexuality, an individualized major. My degree dissects how neoliberalism and colonialism shape oppression in the United States and creates a roadmap toward building an equitable, abolitionist world through queer, people of color-led perspectives. I'm also minoring in Communications Studies and I am pursuing a certificate in Political Thought through AU's Lincoln Scholars Program. I am passionate about abolition and liberation and would love to talk with you about nonprofit aims toward these goals, journalism, the music industry, and writing.
