Research Associate on the ESRC-funded School Meals Service project. Based at University of Wolverhampton working with colleagues from University of Sheffield and UCL. Working on strand 3- ethnographies of the current school meals service in the UK. I conducted ethnographic fieldwork and interviews at schools in London and Bradford in June 2023 and Cardiff and Glasgow in September 2023. Currently working on analysis of fieldwork data.

Associate lecturer convening BSc Geography 2nd year unit Contemporary Urbanism. Lectured on topics such as gentrification, displacement, and urban inequalities. Also lectured on 3rd year unit Critical Human Geographies (teaching on intersectionality, more-than-human geographies and economic geographies) and 3rd year unit Geographies of Citizenship and Social Justice (teaching on social movements). I also supervised a student project on a 2nd year unit.

Research Assistant on 'Enhancing Digital Learning Skills for HyPIR' project in the School of History, Politics and International Relations at University of Leicester. Involves facilitating focus groups with students, and questionnaires with students and staff on digital literacy, followed by data analysis. Following qualitative and quantitative data analysis of the research data collected, I wrote a digital strategy report with recommendations for the School on how to support student and staff digital skills. The research and report will be integral in informing curriculum design and module planning for the 2023/24 academic year.

6 months of funding from the ESRC IAA to develop research impact from my PhD. Involved creating and delivering training sessions for schools and teachers around supporting their learners who speak English as an additional language. The live sessions engaged with around 100 teachers from 6 different schools across Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire. I also recorded the session and shared this with further schools. Session feedback was collected via an attendee survey which yielded positive feedback with teachers saying they would implement the best practice for EAL pupils that I presented. I also shared my research findings at the Geographies of Blended Learning conference and wrote two upcoming publications.

Research area- Geographies of School Children with English as an Additional Language (EAL) Researching the everyday educational experiences of secondary school pupils EAL and the implications their experiences have on socialisation of pupils to live in multicultural British society. Funded by the ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council) Midlands Graduate School.Completion of a year of ethnographic fieldwork within a secondary school volunteering as a Teaching Assistant, 40 interviews with teachers and relevant stakeholders and a thorough policy and literature review around EAL education.Successfully defended thesis in November 2022, awarded PhD with minor corrections. Graduated in July 2033.

Taught over 80 hours (mixture of in person and online) across multiple Undergraduate modules within the BA Human Geography course on research methods and geographical concepts, including 45 hours of independent teaching, which involved planning of content and leading seminars and lectures, and 50 hours of marking Undergraduate assignments, assessing reports based on a matrix and providing constructive feedback. Responsibility for Undergraduate students on two residential field trips as a staff member, leading groups around and teaching evening seminars.AFHEA awarded in February 2021

Helped to facilitate 10 outreach events in the School of Geography, Geology and the Environment, such as University open days, as a lead ambassador. Talking to prospective students and their families about the courses offered within the department and answering their queries. Aided the organisation of the duties of other ambassadors working the outreach events.

Mentored two A-Level students taking part in the LEAP (Leicester Enhanced Access Programme) widening participation course, which helps students to develop skills in preparation for university. Regular meetings and emails with mentees advising them in conducting their research projects and marking their final reports using an assessment matrix and providing constructive feedback.

Facilitating art workshops with children aged up to 18 years old, many of whom have SEND, and their families. Fully trained to support the special needs of children and adults with a wide range of disabilities, including Child Protection, Safeguarding and Disability Awareness training. Responsibility for answering visitor questions, giving gallery tours and locking up the gallery at the end of the day. Experience communicating with a wide range of people and problem-solving in a dynamic environment.
