Based at University of Wolverhampton working with colleagues from University of Sheffield and UCL. Working on strand 3- ethnographies of the current school meals service in the UK. I conducted ethnographic fieldwork and interviews at schools in London and Bradford in June 2023 and Cardiff and Glasgow in September 2023. Currently working on analysis of fieldwork data. -

Involves facilitating focus groups with students, and questionnaires with students and staff on digital literacy, followed by data analysis. Following qualitative and quantitative data analysis of the research data collected, I wrote a digital strategy report with recommendations for the School on how to support student and staff digital skills. The research and report will be integral in informing curriculum design and module planning for the 2023/24 academic year. -
Postdoctoral Innovation AssociateUniversity Of Leicester Oct 2022 - Mar 20236 months of funding from the ESRC IAA to develop research impact from my PhD. Involved creating and delivering training sessions for schools and teachers around supporting their learners who speak English as an additional language. The live sessions engaged with around 100 teachers from 6 different schools across Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire. I also recorded the session and shared this with further schools. Session feedback was collected via an attendee survey which yielded positive feedback with teachers saying they would implement the best practice for EAL pupils that I presented. I also shared my research findings at the Geographies of Blended Learning conference and wrote two upcoming publications. -

Funded by the ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council) Midlands Graduate School.Completion of a year of ethnographic fieldwork within a secondary school volunteering as a Teaching Assistant, 40 interviews with teachers and relevant stakeholders and a thorough policy and literature review around EAL education.Successfully defended thesis in November 2022, awarded PhD with minor corrections. Graduated in July 2033. -
