Work to reduce food loss and waste (FLW) and associated environmental impacts through a sustainable materials management approach.Lead data analysis for Food Recovery Challenge, a national awards program with 1,000 participants in food waste reduction programs, provide analytical and technical support to SMF HQ and Regional team members using database management system.Plan leadership events with multiple agencies highlighting a new initiative to reduce FLW, receiving national press coverage.Prepare briefings, talking points, and other materials for ORCR and OLEM management, respond to public, Congressional, and media inquiries regarding food waste.Serve as EPA lead for 2030 Champions group, coordinating with USDA and planning events and conference calls to convene Champions.Serve as EPA Lead for Further with Food, exploring ways to maximize EPA’s role as a group member and leverage the member resources available to encourage expansion and growth into new areas and identify opportunities to reduce FLW.Work with a collaborative research team at SESYNC (funded by NSF) to contribute to the existing body of knowledge by defining and modeling the environmental, ecological, and economic impacts of food loss and waste within the U.S. food system to determine how best to prioritize waste reduction efforts.Manage work to update EPA's national food loss and waste estimates.Represent Agency interests on international food waste and sustainability work groups.Awards: Bronze Medal Team Award, ORCR’s Office Director’s Special Recognition, National Notable Achievement Award, ORCR Honor Award for Serving the Public with Integrity and a Strong Work Ethic
