Ellen Buckland is an educator, entrepreneur, storyteller, and designer currently leading her business´Contemporary Empathy´ and teaching Higher Education. She uses both theatre and human centred design methodologies to discover what makes people tick, build empathic dialogue, and disrupt traditional learning. Her ultimate goal is to transform traditional business interactions and achieve lasting impact on health and wellbeing by improving professional communication skills.Ellen holds a Masters degree in Customer Experience and Innovation (MCXI) from IE Business School in Madrid where she is currently a member of faculty on several undergraduate and masters level courses. She is a lifelong learner who believes that transversal skills are vital in times of rapid change and AI. She finds it exciting that theatre and design skills can be relevant for anyone; from a manager in the construction industry to an Uber driver to a medical surgeon.Her leadership skills and entrepreneurial mindset are complemented by an aptitude for teamwork, organisation, strategic thinking, and creativity. As a self starter she has proven her ability to adapt and excel in a dynamic ever changing environment. Ellen has worked as facilitator, mentor, and trainer to explore the power of storytelling and connection through interactive workshops and classes.
