During my time as Director of Communications, my tasks are an all-encompassing effort to present our student government as a reliable and approachable resource for Whitman's campus. This entails daily projects such as poster creation and distribution, biweekly emails, social media posts. As head of the Communications Committee, I often distribute and delegate these tasks among my team, as well as brainstorm better outlets for student outreach. On a larger scale, I am in the process of implementing a social media strategy and rebranding in hopes to increase our relationship with students.

Serà Fine Silk is a menswear brand that specializes in handmade Italian silk luxury accessories. As an intern developing social media and photography skills, my main responsibilities on a day-to-day basis varied slightly but usually involved any and all steps of content creation: conceptualizing photos and campaigns; styling, photographing, and editing content; scheduling and posting on social media. Though I worked with all social media platforms, Instagram was my main focus. I learned how to effectively select hashtags, analyze Instagram Insights, and curate a feed based on audience interaction and engagement. From the beginning of my internship to the end, we gained roughly 5,000 followers.

As an Assistant Photographer I helped Bethany prepare, style, and photograph during shoots. During my time with Bethany I experienced a multifaceted definition of a photographer. From local to nationally recognized clients, from weddings to product shoots, from conception to business management to distribution: I gained a holistic understanding not just of how to take good photos, but how to run a business.

Strut is a design and brand agency driven by the mantra 'design for a purpose.' As an intern at Strut, I crafted my photography skills in assisting with photoshoots, editing with Lightroom and Photoshop, and updating websites run by Strut such as Rehive. My position wasn't limited to photography endeavors: I developed and implemented a content audit process to organize clientele content library, researched and presented social media strategy ideas to Strut's internal team, and helped brainstorm design concepts for clients.
