Based in the Veterinary Laboratory the role involves a monthly rotation between Histology, Haematology, Serology, Clinical Chemistry and Parasitology. The sections are run according to National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) Guidelines. Data and Information management and Occupation Health and Safety.

Hills Racing Team is a local family motorsport team. Third Generation Drivers, Ellie NT#21 and Casey NT#18 have been involved in motorsports since their father introduce them to junior sedans in 2005. The passion has grown and continued to evolve in to Formula 500 section at Darwin Speedway.Social media marketing for the team (Facebook, YouTube), press relations/releases through appropriate platforms (website, newspapers, radio, magazines), sponsorship and marketing proposals, public speaking at events and awards ceremonies, sponsorship/partner relations through email updates and care packages, website design and maintenance, maintain key relations in speedway motorsport sector, marketing and team merchandise design.

6 week placement where I was involved in carrying out molecular testing for Staphylococcus aureus.

The main source of work for the laboratory is Remote Communities which require testing weekly/monthly to ensure the maintenance of clean safe drinking water. The laboratory also test local potable, swimming, sewage and environmental water. The position involved receiving samples on arrival, preparing and preforming testing, reading and recording results, autoclaving, cleaning and maintenance, proficiency and control testing, preparing media and solutions and training and supervision of new team members. The laboratory is NATA accredited

I worked as the Histology Technician but also completed tasks in Haematology, Parasitology and Serology. I obtained the position after completing 6 weeks of placements in the position under supervision.
