As the Co-Lead Coordinator of the Sustainability Program of Rollins College, I am responsible for overseeing all environmental and sustainability efforts of the college. I organize bi-weekly meetings of a staff of 10 people and monthly meetings with 15-20 management personnel of Rollins. We host multiple events per month, including recycling forums, speakers, waste auditing, and semi-annual E-Waste drives. I founded the beginning of a bi-annual campus E-Waste drive. In my two years leading and organizing the events, we collected a total 4,881 lbs of e-waste from entering our landfills and polluting our environment.

I oversaw staffing, content and weekly production of the weekly student-run newspaper at Rollins. During my tenure, I improved the content and design of the newspaper and increased website readership by 127 percent in one year. I also coordinated a series of journalism workshops led by an outside trainer to improve paper’s quality.

• Selected as one of 30 campuses out of 258 around the world to work with student leaders and advance United Nation's sustainability goals through individual projects. My project focused on SDG #2: No Hunger. • Pursued a multi-tiered project with a community in Rwanda to promote sustainable agriculture and environmental education. Participated in webinars with global government leaders to evaluate the project’s success.

Miami/Fort Lauderdale Area

• Interned on the features and business desks of the largest newspaper in South Florida. • Wrote more than 50 stories, including eight published on the front page and two picked up by AP. My story on one of the few female python hunters in Florida was published in the Tampa Bay Times, Miami Herald, San Francisco Chronicle and other newspapers across the country.

Rwamagana, Rwanda

Founded two self-sustaining gardens at a rural primary school in Rwanda, feeding 20 vulnerable children per each four-month season. Applied for and received a grant from the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement at Rollins to return two summers in a row and research the sustainability of the project. Also founded a school newspaper program for students to practice English and learn the art of journalism.

St. Cloud, Florida

After working as a Land Technician Intern from February 2017- May 2017, I have returned to continue the same project as a Senior Land Technician. Conducted pedestrian surveys to recognize the presence of gopher tortoises, installed over 200 bucket traps in active and inactive burrows, responsibly handled and transported gopher tortoises and other wildlife to other counties, while effectively collecting and transferring data within the ArcGIS Collector App.

As member of the varsity softball team for Rollins College, I balanced busy course loads with high intensity practices and games year round. I contributed to the program’s first regional championship. Our season had over 60 games.
