As a Designated Safeguarding Leader I am one of the main points of contact for safeguarding across the school and residential environment. I regularly work with the SENCO and liaise with parents to build positive relationships with the families as well as discussing specific welfare, attendance issues, behavioral concerns and internal and external exclusions. My job includes dealing with considerable private and confidential information which has to be dealt with sensitively and through following school and legal procedures I regularly have to organise, deliver and quickly assess, work, welfare and the temperament of pupils every day, in a calming and professional manner. Working with those who are internally excluded or working away from lessons, or under achieving I adopt and encourage a whole school approach to identifying strategies with the individual. This is aimed at reducing the likelihood of recurrences and then re-integration in order to return to the timetabled day. Together with the teacher tutor and child care officer I then create a development plan to prevent recurrence. This also involves speaking to parents, which can sometimes be a difficult conversations and sometimes a very supportive conversation, I have to use my customer service skills regularly to show support or empathy towards a particular situations. In summary, I feel that I am a strong candidate for this position. I am determined and motivated to become a consistently outstanding class teacher over a long career. I recognise that the demands and requirements of the job are constantly shifting and that there is a great need to always reflect on what you are doing and how it can be improved. I have the drive and determination to consistently improve upon and develop personally and professionally. Through this I hope to inspire the young people to develop as much as they can. I believe that I have the passion and enthusiasm for the role to be able to meet and exceed the schools high standards and expectations, and to provide a strong, positive role model for the young people, playing my part as an active, collaborative member of the school and wider community.

Along with working indoors including meal preparation in the kitchen, library support, assisting with special projects for example helping to prepare for Havan, an ancient yoga fire ceremony, and Music festivals. All activities are aimed at contributing to the community, I found myself working with people from different backgrounds, some who struggled with working together as a team. As a result I had to use a range of skills in order to achieve the tasks we were set, as we had to work in 'sacred silence' whilst producing meals of differing dietary requirements for over 100 people.
