Over two months, I worked with a team of five people to perform western blots, scratch assays, and analyze positive cell lines to track and analyze the efficiency of CRISPR and other drugs on low and high-grade glioblastoma brain tumors. We'd use the CRISPR/Cas9 system to modify the genome and epigenome in primary tumor cell culture and surgically resected tumor slice models to understand how these changes contribute to tumor cell invasion.

Each day, from 9 to 12 am, we actively participate in lectures given by current physicians at Stanford. Topics Included: cardiothoracic basic cardiothoracic anatomy and physiology, clinical cardiothoracic surgeries including valve surgery, coronary bypass surgery, thoracic aortic surgery, congenital heart surgery, heart transplantation, and lung surgery.From 1 to 5 pm, we practiced and perfected the hands-on practice of fundamental surgical skills and key cardiothoracic surgical procedures
