My name is Elliot Skillings and I'm a recent (Spring 2024) graduate of University of Missouri School of Journalism with a bachelor's degree in strategic communication, and a minor degree in political science. This spring, I worked at Adzou at the University of Missouri to craft a campaign for FOX Sports and their coverage of the 2025 NASCAR season. For this campaign, I lead the effort to produce video content, through story boarding potential advertising ideas, as well as producing and editing this content. I was fully involved in conducting both primary and secondary research, collaborating with my team to produce comprehensive work.I also have experience working to craft social media content and graphic elements for Euronews in Brussels, Belgium, and collaborated with their marketing team in Lyon, France to produce written content detailing the Euronews rebrand in 2023. Additionally, I’ve gained ample experience in the strategic communications realm, working with a group to conduct primary and secondary research, along with being a narrative lead, ultimately creating a campaign plan for GreatWater 360 Auto Care. I’ve also worked to produce other mock brand campaigns with both a written and visual (graphic design) focus through class work at the university. I'm very experienced using Adobe Premiere and Audition, and have used other programs in the Adobe suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. I'm hoping to have the opportunity to continue applying and strengthening these skills in a professional setting through interning or working in a full time role in public relations or communications. In the future, my ambition is to work in crisis communications or public affairs, and I also have ambitions to seek out jobs in public relations at a firm or in-house.
