I've always been fascinated by what makes a business tick. Though having a great product is crucial, the "behind-the-scenes" work - the systems and processes, the measurements and metrics that guide how teams achieve great things - is what draws my focus, and improving those systems and processes is my passion.I pursue this passion by following three principles:- Understand the customer. Spend time with the people that use your product, [try to] do the job they do, long enough to hear the difficulties and desires, and see first-hand the potential for improvements, This applies to internal software, systems, and tooling too! I love spending time with finance, manufacturing, and customer support teams.- Build a phenomenal team. There's always more that I want to accomplish than hours in the day. I focus on building a great team of folks that bring different experiences and perspectives, but that share a passion and drive for incremental improvements that I trust to execute against our common vision. I strive to provide an environment to foster autonomy, mentorship and experimentation.- Bias towards automation. I am so passionate about the tactful application of automation to manual and repetitive tasks, continual measurement well-crafted metrics to drive decisions, and small incremental improvements to expedite workflows; I like to think of this as the application of engineering and SRE principles (https://landing.google.com/sre/books) to all aspects of business.Always happy to connect with folks that share similar (or dissimilar) views!
