I am a recent graduate from California State University, Fullerton, with a bachelor of science in cellular and developmental biology. Graduating with honors, I thoroughly enjoyed my educational experience at CSUF including my two and a half years in an evolutionary biochemistry research lab under Dr. Nikolaidis. During my time in the research lab, I was fortunate enough to present my bioinformatic investigations of heat shock proteins at three undergraduate research symposiums. My future career goal is to become a physician assistant (PA) and am seeking opportunities to shadow physicians and PAs and gain experience in the field. I am very passionate about human physiology and am looking forward to an exciting and rewarding career treating patients. I have taken advantage of various volunteering opportunities in an effort to strengthen my working healthcare knowledge and impact. Most recently I volunteered at the American Heart Association as a Legacy Leader (CSUF cohort), impacting the surrounding community's knowledge of valvular heart disease and emergency CPR procedures. Our coordinator and my fellow Legacy Leaders were an invaluable key to our ability to reach thousands of residents last year.Currently I am pursuing tutoring positions to keep my working knowledge of my undergraduate degree sharp and support myself while gaining experience in the healthcare industry. As a previous student, I understand the difficulty presented by certain courses and topics that sometimes make success seem insurmountable. However, my [busy] time at CSUF allowed me to fine tune my study habits and time management to overcome the incessant academic challenges. I now want to help other struggling students to succeed in their academic pursuits and perform at their very best!
