In-House Corporate Counsel
Hogan Systems, Inc.
Dallas, Texas, United States
Hogan Systems, Inc. was a publicly-traded international banking software company (subsequently acquired by Computer Science Corp.). In addition to general corporate legal matters, I was appointed by the CEO to act as “Ombudsman” to “take care of any issues that might arise” for two mission critical international sales and consulting projects totaling $100M (2x total annual company gross revenue). As Ombudsman, I worked extensively on operational, human capital/resources and legal issues on projects in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at Banco de la Nacion de la Argentina, in close association with executives from IBM Argentina, and in Bratislava, Slovakia with Vseobecna Uvarova Banka (VUB). While in Slovakia, I was actively engaged with the Slovak Finance Minister in the negotiation, drafting and execution of the “treaty” creating The Carpathian Euroregion. The goal of The Carpathian Euroregion is to promote trade, science, education, culture, and tourism among member nations Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Ukraine, and Romania, which encompass over 60,000 square miles and 15 million inhabitants.
