I am a waste management and recycling executive with over 20 years of experience in between the UK and Southern Africa. I specialize in researching, planning and executing environmental projects and managing big contracts to reduce waste and create more sustainable industrial practices within government and large private enterprises.On top of managing national FMCG accounts for Interwaste and being the key zero waste to landfill champion for them, I have experience in kerbside household waste collections in the UK (4 years), set up and managed a MRF for Enviroserv, been consulting for MR Price on their sustainability packaging, worked as a consultant for a plastic extrusion plant and set up SupaMama community project for Verigreen, head the portfolio of the waste beneficiation IWMSA KZN. I am also championing the back labeling recycling project for Interwate with Avery Dennison and Fibre Circle.One of my biggest career achievements is having achieved a Zero Waste to Landfill initiative for Unilever in South Africa. I also provide waste separation and zero waste to landfill expertise for companies like Unilever, Siqalo Foods, RCL, Reckitt, Tiger Brands, Clover, Danone, Iman Foods, Mr Price, etc.• Key Accounts Manager and Waste Solutions Specialist at Interwaste – I assist large enterprises to develop and launch recycling and waste minimisation projects. • Waste recycling and minimisation portfolio holder for the Institute of Waste Management SA (IWMSA) – I have organised four consecutive yearly events on recycling and waste beneficiation to provide environmental guidance on waste management in Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa.• Regional Recycling Manager at EnviroServ – I started and improved the recyclable trading division as well as growing their on-site waste management division to more than 100 employees. I also started a glass recycling initiative which collected around 1,000 tons of glass in the informal settlement areas around the Durban area.• Environmental Consultant with Mr Price – I undertook a national recycling survey for their 1,300 stores to create their recycling strategy, plan of execution and assisted their group in finding more sustainable packaging solutions. • Project Officer at WRAP – Our team started the first battery recycling collection points trials in the UK and we consulted with local authorities on how to approach battery recycling.
