There is something to be said about making yourself uncomfortable at times. With this is mind, I pushed the re-set button on my life; worked very hard to save and then set off on a life affirming 7 month adventure through 4 continents, followed by a relocation from Manchester to my home city of Bristol.

I was responsible for all internal operations and the general management of the Marketplace team - including devising and conducting personal development plans for my own team of 4 Relationship Managers and 2 Business Development Executives. I also worked with the in-house tech team and external UX designers on agile product development through project involvement, road-mapping and testing our award winning marketplace platform.

It was my job to oversee all activity on the marketplace and lead a team of Relationships Managers. The role involved regular communication with users and members of our network, as well working with the team to ensure customer success and happiness! I was also in charge of agency relations and supervised the ongoing relationships with our network of recruiters; any issues relating to use of the platform by the recruitment agency network would be escalated to me for resolution.

I manage a small team who will liaise with both employers and agencies using Hiring Hub to ensure everything is in place to get jobs filled quickly, and with less hassle than through any other channel!

As an Account Manager, it was my job to act as the conduit between employer and recruitment agency users, and be the first point of contact to both aid and accelerate the recruitment process. This would include fully qualifying vacancies to ensure all details are available, liaising with agencies to ensure they are on the right track and generally providing support to all parties involved in the recruitment process.

During my gap year and between University term time throughout my studies, I worked full time hours as a Sales Assistant for Superdry. This continued beyond finishing university and I received various promotions including the wonderful titles of ‘Super User’ and ‘Recall Champion’, before becoming a Supervisor in the Manchester Arndale store. I was part of a brand that grew from being relatively obscure to becoming the fastest growing fashion business in Europe, which was great!
