As a catering attendant, I prepared dining events, provided exceptional customer care, and advised my coworkers on task completion. Catering is a highly physical and fast-paced job, requiring focus, time-management, and organization. Being able to work under pressure while still providing great customer care is essential. By reflecting these qualities and working well with my catering team, I helped to successfully serve dinners for 500+ guests. I was often assigned to serve VIP tables because I can effectively communicate with guests, remain approachable, and provide them with reliable, quality service. I was also assigned to train new employees, helping them to establish a firm foundation of catering skills. Since 1984, the Law Offices of David H. Gehrke have been successfully meeting the legal needs of people in the Puget Sound area and greater Washington, providing the best in criminal defense and personal injury representation. Attorney David Gehrke is most known for his representation of Des Moines resident, Mary Kay Letourneau. While interning at Gehrke law offices, I served as an interface between clients and attorneys, listening to descriptions of cases, taking concise notes, and dependably exchanging important information between all parties. I wrote letters to clients regarding case updates, and kept documents and reports organized. One quality that proved significant in this environment was the ability to calm and comfort clients in a distressed state. I talked clients through their worries/concerns and ensured that they felt important and well taken care of. In addition, Attorney Gehrke selected me to assist him at multiple court hearings and to assist him on campaign walks when he ran for judge of Des Moines, Washington.

Guam Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse is a government agency of Guam committed to the prevention of substance abuse and suicide in the community. The agency holds an annual 3 day conference, the Youth for Youth Conference, during which young members of the community coach and mentor other young members about the dangers of substance abuse. Furthermore, the conference also focuses on coping with stress and promoting activities that reduce depression (exercise, family dinners, personal hobbies). As a conference facilitator, I created presentations on substance abuse, implementing Powerpoints, activities and skits that were informative and fun. I built great relationships with my mentees, even providing them with guidance long after the conference was over.
