CEO of Nikau Foundation, the Wellington region's Community Foundation.Responsible for the management and growth of over $80 million funds under management, and grant distribution of over $1 million in 2022. Reporting to the Chairwoman, I lead a team of six staff, work with the Board of Trustees and two Board sub-committees, and am jointly responsible for a significant multi-million dollar corporate trusteeship, management of our Fund Managers and leading cohort of over 40 volunteers based across our localities. My role includes developing strategy, risk & IT management, policy development, budgets, people management and ensuring a high-quality experience for our donors, corporate trusteeships and stakeholders.

Leading on the solicitation of major philanthropic gifts to support the strategic aims of Victoria University and the Faculties of Science, Engineering and Architecture & Design. I work directly with the Executive Director Development and Senior Leadership team within the Faculties, as well as academic leads to solicit major gifts for projects identified as priorities within their strategic plans. Working with the Development Manager, Science, Engineering and Architecture & Design, I am responsible for driving the development of a donor and prospect pipeline to identify, cultivate, solicit five, six and seven-figure gifts and sponsorship from individuals, businesses, trusts and foundations. Raised over $5m in gifts and commitments to date

Responsible for providing strategic leadership for the Development Office to directly and indirectly raise funds for the University to support a range of significant projects including three capital programmes, a pan-University scholarships programme and faculty-driven projects. Providing leadership across fundraising and marketing channels, project management, fundraising processes and capacity building for the Development Office to support campaign efforts of raising $80million by 2018. Jointly responsible for the senior reporting, budgeting and resourcing for the Development Office. Successfully raised $10 million in 2017/18.

Raise philanthropic funds to support the activity of three Faculties within the University, Science, Engineering and Architecture & Design.Working with the Executive Director Development, Pro Vice Chancellor and Deans to identify projects and create a fundraising strategy for the Faculties. Responsible for working across School and department to build strong internal relationships and maximising on existing networks. Working with project leads and the Development team to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts and sponsorship from individuals, businesses, trusts and foundations. Personally raised over $3.75m in gifts and commitments in first year of holding the position.

Responsible for building and growing a Major Donor Programme, a new focus for the organisation,responsible for cultivating prospects and donors for gifts of £5k plus, working with the team and SMT in the establishment of a development board, a giving circle and working on the organisational case for support as well as building a strong programme for major donors giving unrestricted income to support the transformational work of Restless Development. Established a new high level donor programme of donors committing to 5 and 6 figure gifts, individually and as syndicates to support the Livelihoods work.
