Emanuel “Manny” Johnson. Served 6 years in the Navy as an Information Systems Technician. Growing up on the South Side of Chicago, the Navy was a way for him to escape the perils of the city while also serving his country. During his tour of service he was stationed onboard the U.S.S. Vella Gulf (CG-72) where he received two Navy Achievement Medals and a Flag letter of Accommodation.
