My name is Emerson Reed, and I am pursuing an Accounting & Finance co-major at Indiana University in the Kelley School of Business. I chose to attend Kelley to study business because I have worked in retail since I was 16 and have always been curious about the businesses of business, as well as how to make things more efficient. I bring technological acumen, detail orientation, and interpersonal skills to the workplace. All of my skills come into effect while working at Advance Auto Parts, and German American Bank. I was able to learn the archaic inventory management system to become the go to expert on the system for all employees in the store, becoming a resource to my team. We then used the system to more quickly sort products, creating a routine between coworkers to put away stock much quicker. We were able to save the company an average of 7 hours of employee labor each week. At German American, I was able to get to know each customer and ask the right questions to efficiently fulfill their financial needs in the timeliest manner possible. I want to be able to apply these skills in my career going forward as an Auditor, using the skills I'm learning in the Kelley School of Business to save as much time as possible while promoting high-quality work for the organization I work for, and the employees housed inside it.Interests: Auto repair | Car forums | Liverpool FC | Humphrey Bogart | Photography | Marco Reus |
