In this position I work closely with the Maryland History Day Outreach and Professional Development Coordinator to lead outreach sessions to guide Maryland students through the History Day process and professional development sessions to guide teachers through the process as well as on utilizing primary sources in the classroom. I also work collaboratively with other organizations as a member of Library of Congress' Teaching with Primary Sources Consortium. I work on historical research to develop additional primary source kits as part of a grant project. During the summer, I help lead two week-long summer institutes that offer Maryland teachers professional development credits with the MSDE. I also aid the Maryland History Day team in various tasks to help keep the Maryland History Day program running smoothly.
