My work history is in counselling, AOD & mental health support and advocacy, disability support work, and now embracing the peer support model for supporting individual and community wellbeing, and remagining dominant systems and stories.I worked at BRISSC for 2.5 years supporting survivors of SV aged 15 years and over, utilising an intersectional feminist framework to provide individual and group support, and assist clients navigating legal and health systems.Some achievements included designing and delivering training to workers from 1800 Respect, DV Connect and Child Protection, and co-facilitating workshops on Community Accountability models as alternative to mainstream systems for addressing interpersonal violence which frequently cause harm to families and communities.I am passionate about the rights of stigmatised and criminalised people. My work with QuIVAA allows me to channel this into advocacy, support and Harm Reduction education for people who use or have used substances. I currently work on the Peer Qnect Phoneline as Support and Advocacy Lead.I'm fortunate to be involved in various local consumer rights/ lived experience representation projects and advisory groups and I'm interested in work which aligns with values of Harm Reduction, abolition and community as healing.
