I ensure agency compliance with Pennsylvania Child Protection Services Laws, State regulations, Philadelphia Department of Human Services guidelines, and internal policies through regular case file audits, compliance data, and interaction with staff. Using data from weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, I identify and initiate corrective or preventative action plans. Through monitoring high-risk cases, I ensure safe outcomes for the children we serve and the agency. In this role, it is my responsibility to investigate potential falsifications and provide leadership with findings including recommendations. For Fiscal Year 21, I created 80% of the content used for our Plan of Action required by the Philadelphia Department of Human Services. Content I created in Fiscal Year 18, 19, and 20 is now being used by other agencies.

In my role at Northeast Treatment Centers, I assessed the overall functioning of the agency and how each department connected. I streamlined systems or created ones when necessary to enhance outcomes. I created guidebooks, educational literature for staff, and methods to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines. These became the basis for the Standard Operating Procedures Manual which I lead a workgroup to create. The systems, tools and practices I created were incorporated into the Fiscal Year 18 Plan of Action required by the Philadelphia Department of Human Services.

Delivered English classes to all age groups and English proficiency levels using provided textbooks and materials in order to create a dynamic classroom atmosphere that encouraged students to learn, researched and applied teaching techniques that incorporated cultural awareness to ensure students were prepared to travel or live in an English speaking country.

Utilized the foundations and theories of health education as well as community engagement strategies to create and evaluate sustainable programs that empowered families to improve their quality of life, collaborated with Milwaukee Public School Wellness Committees to implement the CDC’s Coordinated School Health model, delivered evidence based programming in schools and at local community centers.

I supervised 9 Parental Involvement Coordinators at 9 different Milwaukee Public Schools chosen to participate in the Having Involved Parents Program. Our goal was to improve student attendance and academic achievement through parental involvement. As a leadership team, we created our employee handbook, annual performance review matrix, and implemented best practices across our 35 schools.

Las Cruces, New Mexico

I delivered comprehensive and medically accurate reproductive health education to area schools, youth groups, group homes, and families involved in the foster care system in Southeast New Mexico. As the nearest Planned Parenthood clinic in New Mexico was 250 miles away, I was the face of the organization for Southern New Mexico for education and advocacy purposes.

Fort Wayne, Indiana Area

I delivered after school youth programming focused on youth development, drug and alcohol prevention, reproductive health, gang prevention, and character development. In this role, I planned and executed large scale activities and field trips, connected with local businesses organizations willing to offer education and services to my youth, and managed all grant required reporting. As many of my youth would go on to become DREAMERS when the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act passed in 2007, I ensured civic engagement opportunities were available and encouraged.
