As a Gifted certified English Language Arts teacher, I became proficient in multi-tasking for different roles such as: professional, colleague, friend, helping hand, Beta Club Co-Sponsor, Advocate for students, and expert communicator. My time in this position has prepared me for many tasks inside and outside the education world. There is a reason many people call teachers super heroes because they are always swooping in to support a student or a colleague and make them feel safe and loved. Supporting others and making them feel seen and heard is what I enjoyed most about this position.

For this position, I instructed all four grade levels as a high school English Language Arts teacher. During this role, I served as a PLC teacher lead for 10th and 11th grade curriculum. I also helped re-design the senior Advanced Composition class to help prepare students for their college and career readiness. I enjoyed volunteering my time as a sponsor for the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy where we made an impact on our community and I spent time outside of school hours assisting the marching band as one of the color guard coaches. Additionally, I built strong relationships with my co-workers and students by being a kind person and a team player. I was always willing to step in and help when it was needed. Genuinely, I am a helper at heart because helping others brings me joy.
