I made a quick progression from band 5 to band 6 midwife within a busy high risk unit, after qualifying in 2010. As part of my time there, I worked as part of a complex multidisciplinary team and stepped up by taking charge of the postnatal ward when required. I further progressed my skills by gaining mentorship qualification. Following that opportunity, I honed my acquired skills further in a community setting. I maintained and managed a clinic of over 200 patients per annum and found that working with families in their homes and less clinical settings was a passion of mine; therefore I became apart of the innovative homebirth team, providing safe and quality care in the comfort of their homes.

Coordinating patients' journeys within a private cosmetic surgery setting. I meet the patients from the first initial enquiry of surgery, managing their expectations and creating "a hand holding" experience to connect them with the correct surgeon for them. My role requires me to not only act as their nurse, providing pre and post operative care; I also manage each patients' sales, finances and administrative elements. The diversity of the job role is exhilarating whilst committing to patient care and maintaining continuity for them; all factors I am very passionate about.
