Doctoral Candidate conducting neuroscience research within the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Neuroscience at Loyola University-Chicago. My current work in Dr. Eric Villalón Landeros' lab focuses on investigating the role of the neuronal membrane proteasome (NMP) in intercellular communication and pain sensitivity in the peripheral nervous system. Using in vitro and in vivo techniques, this research aims to uncover molecular mechanisms underlying the NMP-dependent modulation of pain sensitivity, potentially paving the way for novel therapeutic approaches for pain reduction via targeting of the NMP.Driven by a passion for making complex scientific concepts accessible to diverse audiences, I am committed to translating rigorous research into meaningful communication. As I progress through my PhD journey, I aim to foster understanding between scientific discovery and the public, ultimately pursuing a career in science communication.
