My name is Emily McClain. I am a punctilious UX Designer with a Masters Degree in Counseling. My strengths include empathy, communication and teamwork. Previously, I have spent 4 years working as school counseling and a therapist. I managed a caseload of over 80 students, helping them to solve problems and create behavioral solutions. As a therapist, I maintained 5 weekly clients with whom I used psychological counseling theories to help them set and reach personal goals. Why UX design? My passion for the arts, problem solving and creativity were a perfect match for this field. I knew the skills I had built up in counseling would give me a unique perspective and help me to truly listen to the needs of people. From problem solving on a grand scale to noticing the most subtle emotions in someone, the skills I had practiced for years have made me the designer I am today.
