During this experience, I learned various techniques used in fieldwork for geology majors for three weeks. During these three weeks, I learned how to drill surficial cores, measure and navigate using a Brunton compass, collect soil samples, and map bedrock units. This also included making stratigraphy maps, surficial deposit maps, and bedrock cross-section maps.

With enthusiasm, this job requires skilled knowledge of the campus to engage in informative tours to prospective students and families in groups of up to 50 people.

I mapped glacial landforms in the Adirondacks using ArcGIS and GISPro to map eskers and moraine ridges to identify various ice margins creating a chronology map. This new map was compared with old maps that were based on aerial photographs, topographic maps, and field studies. This will give insight into regional ice margin correlations and ice sheet dynamics. I have also presented my research at the Transformations Poster Research event, the Science Symposium, and to the Chancellor of SUNY schools: John B. King Jr. when he visited SUNY Cortland.

CPR, First Aid, AED, and Lifeguard certified. Public interactions include enforcing safety regulations, being attentive, communicating, and teamwork.
