As a Research Technician in Biological Sciences at the Sunnybrook Research Institute, I am dedicated to ensuring the smooth operation of the Dunn Lab. My role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including:Animal care to uphold ethical and humane standardsConducting immunology experiments and supporting research projectsManaging lab supplies and maintaining an organized lab spaceOne of the most rewarding aspects of my job is mentoring students and building strong relationships with faculty and staff at both the Sunnybrook Research Institute and the University of Toronto. Contributing to cutting-edge research while supporting the next generation of scientists is incredibly fulfilling.

Spearheaded the Knowledge Translation and Exchange initiative for the WHiSE 2.0 study, focusing on translating research into accessible language, developing infographics, and creating training materials.

Honors bachelor's of Science in Health Science and Psychology, with the completion of a thesis project titled "Understanding the Effects of Oophorectomy on Cognitive Decline" supervised by Dr. Gillian Einsetin and Dr. Shannon Dunn.

Emily is employed as a Keenan Summer Research student under the Immunology Summer Student Research Program (ISSRP) at the University fo Toronto and the Keenan Research Center for the second year in a row.

After being promoted from causal assistant coach to permanent lead coach within 2 months of working with this excellent organization. Emily loves getting out there and creating fun and dynamic classes catering to each child's needs. She is tasked with following lesson plans and adapting them to environmental factors, being in charge of the safety and wellbeing of large groups of kids, and troubleshooting any problems that can arise throughout the day.

Research assistant at the Einstein Lab in the Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto. Collaborated on projects related to the cognitive effects of estrogens, as well as the mechanisms behind cognitive decline and Alzgemers post oophorectomy and after menopause. Was co-supervised by Dr. Einetin as part of undergraduate thesis.

Emily continued her work done over the summer as part of the ISSRP in an independent student project course (PSY405H1) through the Department of psychology at UofT. She worked with the Dunn lab at St. Micheals hospital as well as the Einstein Lab at the Department of Psychology. She wrote a final thesis paper as well as presented her finding in multiple powerpoint presentations to her labs.

Emily conducts patient recruitment as well as assists with other research tasks as part of a longitudinal human immunology study. She is hired under the KRSS student research program as part of the Keenan Research Center in St. Michaels hospital.

Keenan Summer Research Student. I began working here as a dishwasher and with time and hard work was promoted to a line cook and eventually the leading sushi roller. I learned resilience and how to work in a face paced and stressful environment while preparing consistently perfect food.

I worked the till, took orders, managed money, completed refunds and payment. I also worked as a server where I interacted with a wide variety of customers and helped make their experience positive and seamless. I solved issues when they arose and balanced the desires of the customer with the needs of others always making the customer the priority.

I briefly worked as a data analyst for the Brandy Melville office. I analyzed hundreds of shipping and product orders and then scanned organized them in the computer.
